PwP: Play with Players

PwP: Play with Players

Ideating and designing the app for a service that helps players finding new team mates with a focus on local communities.

Context

Context

This has been my first project related to UX and it ist part of my bachelor preparation in Computer Sciences.

Challenge

Challenge

Designing a mobile application approaching for the first time design methods and concepts.

Produced delieverables such as low and mid-fidelity prototypes along with user research-related material.

Solution

Solution

A social network application that aims to help lonely players finding other people to play with.

The app will have a Tinder-like approach, giving the user a set of proposals that can be accepted or discarded. Such system is focused on connecting users on a base of gameplay and geography compatibility.

Current Experience

Current Experience

The experience offered by competitor applicaitons is generally slow and confused, filled with features that are often premium or unlockable through a poorly implemented gamificatied process that is acting as a barrier instead of as a gentle nudge.

Design Process

Design Process

First iteration

After a bit of benchmarking we sadly didn't follow a real design process. We mostly met and came out with features and other things that we wanted to implement, then I started with the mid fidelity on Axure. We produced the low fidelity and the interviews mostly because we were asked for it.

As result, from the interviews we (obviously) found out that there was plenty of stuff that was not working as we wanted!

Second iteration

Learnt from our mistakes, we decided to demolish everything and restart from the benchmarking, following step-by-step the design process that we were supposed to apply since the beginning.
